2016 Spring Open Championship

We were fortunate enough to attend the 27th annual Spring Open Championship, hosted by Dunlavey's black belt academy at Johnson State College in Johnson, VT. This was our third time at this event, which was held this past Saturday on April 9th, 2016.

The event was, and has been, run very efficiently. There's a dedicated crew that has a lot of experience and makes sure things run well. They work well together and you can see that from the get-go. One of the neat things about this event is the way they handle grand-championships. Juniors receive bicycles as awards and adults receive swords. It's a nice touch that everyone appreciates, and other events should consider something like this. People enjoy new and different elements at competitions, which is why we did so many different things the week before at our event.

The event ended on time and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Our sales were brisk, especially at the end of the day. Thank you to everyone that stopped by and we'll see you next year or hopefully at an event sooner.
