Division Rules / FAQ:

  • Point sparring is first to three points, with no time limit. Black belt divisions are 5 points. Point-scoring targets include the front and sides of the torso and the area covered by the helmet. Face contact is not considered a point, but controlled techniques showing that the strike could have made contact with the face are considered points.
  • Weapons and empty hand forms are evaluated based on generally accepted criteria, including displays of speed, power, strength, energy, quality stances, and so forth. Forms are not assessed based on technical accuracy, as this is an open tournament.
  • Please see The Open Tournament Ruleset for full rules here.
