Forget New Year's Resolutions: A Simpler Way to Build Healthy Habits

Forget New Year's Resolutions: A Simpler Way to Build Healthy Habits

Recently, I was invited to chat with a friend on his podcast, where we discussed a topic I’m deeply passionate about: why he and I are personally opposed to New Year’s Resolutions.

For many of us, the New Year feels like the perfect time to start fresh, but that pressure can be overwhelming. We set lofty, unrealistic goals that often fall apart by mid-January. Why wait until January 1st to start making a change you care about? If something is truly important to you, just start. And don’t overwhelm yourself—real change happens one small step at a time.

That conversation got me thinking about this book we created a few years ago, 12 Months to Health. The idea was born from the belief that habits are much easier to create—and sustain—when you take them one day at a time.

The first step is as simple as drinking a glass of water each morning. From there, the habits build on each other, creating a foundation for lasting change. There’s no “all or nothing” mentality here, just a realistic and encouraging approach to better health.

I’d love for you to join me on this journey. If you’re curious about the process, I’m offering a free 7-day sample from 12 Months to Health to help you get started. You’ll see how powerful small, consistent actions can be.

Relax, breathe, and remember: change doesn’t come from big promises—it comes from small, steady actions. Celebrate the little wins, savor the moments, and take life one day at a time. And remember: you don’t need a new year to start becoming the best version of yourself.

Take it easy, my friends.
